ABOUT

Who am I?

Hello, I'm Kevin—a software engineer with 8 years of experience building web and mobile products across a range of industries.

My experience spans sportsbooks, education technology, music streaming, fine arts, and nonprofit organizations. What I enjoy most is solving problems across the stack—whether I’m refining a user experience, building out backend functionality, or working with a team to take an idea all the way to production.

My primary technologies include TypeScript, React, Next.js, Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, and PostgreSQL, and I'm passionate about writing clean, maintainable code that solves real problems.

Where I've shipped

Caesars Sportsbook

  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Next.js
  • Capacitor
  • Redux Toolkit
  • Docker
  • GeoComply
  • Playwright

Caesars Sportsbook is one of the largest online sportsbooks in North America, operating across multiple regulated U.S. markets with web and native iOS/Android applications.

As a Software Engineer, I led the frontend integration of Caesars Sportsbook's Racebook, collaborating with Sportsbook, Racebook, GeoComply, Product, and UI/UX teams to deliver a seamless single sign-on experience, shared wallet, and geolocation verification. The integration eliminated customer onboarding friction between products and supported a platform that achieved 45% year-over-year revenue growth.

I also developed an internal Know Your Customer (KYC) case management platform that replaced manual email-based identity verification with a centralized workflow for document review, case assignment, and approvals. After a successful rollout in Las Vegas, the platform was expanded to sportsbooks across all operating states.

PointsBet

  • TypeScript
  • Redux Saga
  • Typestyle
  • Material UI
  • React Native
  • Xcode
  • Android Studio
  • Jest
  • React Testing Library

PointsBet is an Australian online sportsbook with operations in Australia and Canada. During my time there, the company also operated across multiple regulated U.S. markets, including New Jersey, Colorado, and Pennsylvania, before selling its U.S. business to Fanatics Sportsbook.

As a Senior Front-End Engineer, I led the frontend implementation of Power Hour, a real-time promotional feature that highlighted limited-time odds boosts during major sporting events. The March Madness launch generated over 13,000 user interactions and increased placed bets by 12%.

I also contributed to a homepage redesign by developing reusable React components that showcased featured events, player props, and promotional content, creating a more engaging customer experience while improving long-term maintainability.

Arthur

  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
  • React Native
  • Expo
  • Next.js
  • Firebase
  • Bitrise
  • Fastlane
  • Sentry
  • Figma
  • Xcode
  • Android Studio
  • Redux
  • Redux Persist
  • Amplitude

Arthur was a digital platform that helped collectors, galleries, and museums discover artists, exhibitions, and market insights through a unified web and mobile experience.

As a Software Engineer, I focused on improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of Arthur's customer-facing applications across iOS, Android, and the web. I optimized application performance by identifying and resolving slowdowns, memory leaks, and crashes, while also developing a companion Next.js website that statically generated thousands of artist pages to improve SEO and organic discovery.

I also modernized the mobile release pipeline by implementing Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, and Sentry, automating App Store and Google Play deployments while improving release reliability and production monitoring.

Single Stop

  • JavaScript
  • React
  • Apollo Client
  • Redux
  • Styled
  • Material UI
  • Jest
  • React Testing Library
  • Cypress
  • GraphQL
  • Algolia
  • Google Maps

Single Stop is a nonprofit organization that connects students and families with government benefits and community resources.

As a Front-End Engineer, I developed a case management platform and accessible benefits screener for social workers using React, Apollo Client, and GraphQL. I also implemented automated testing with Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress to improve reliability and reduce manual QA.

Beat45

  • Ruby on Rails
  • React
  • JavaScript
  • Redux
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS
  • WebSockets
  • Webpack
  • Sass
  • Styled Components
  • D3.js

Beat45 provided licensed music video streaming for bars and restaurants as one of the first platforms to offer on-demand video DJs.

As a Software Engineer, I optimized the DJ Management Dashboard by eliminating N+1 queries, redesigned the upload experience with asynchronous pre-uploads that reduced publishing time by up to 20 minutes, and developed a real-time playlist editor with WebSocket synchronization and persistent drag-and-drop ordering.

QPi Education

  • Ruby on Rails
  • Webflow
  • JavaScript
  • CSS
  • AWS Elastic Beanstalk
  • AWS S3
  • AWS Route 53
  • PostgreSQL
  • Mailchimp

QPi Education developed online STEM learning resources and curriculum that helped educators teach engineering and computer science through hands-on projects.

As a Full Stack Engineer, I migrated the platform from Webflow to AWS and Ruby on Rails while building authentication, membership, community, and administrative features that expanded the platform beyond a static website.
