Kevin Y. Kim

Who am I?

I am a software engineer currently working as a front end engineer at Single Stop.

As a programmer, I find myself completely absorbed in the work whether it be creating apps from scratch (like a Minecraft session) or diving into a codebase (like a Myst session).

I have coded extensively in JavaScript, React, Redux, Apollo, and jQuery. I like writing meaningful tests with Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress. I have read all six volumes of Kyle Simpson's YDKJS series and now eagerly wait for someone to ask me what closure is someday.
I thoroughly enjoy bringing wireframes and prototypes to life using CSS3. I put great importance on keeping CSS codebase scaleable by utilizing combinations of SASS/SCSS, Styled Components, and BEM.
I have worked closely with Ruby on Rails for the past 3 years. I can confidently build GraphQL queries and RESTful APIs, query and build relational databases (PostgreSQL), and handle deployment in AWS and Heroku environments.
