Kevin Y. Kim

Who am I?

I am a software engineer currently working as the main front end engineer at Beat45.

As a programmer, I find myself completely absorbed in the work whether it be creating apps from scratch (like a Minecraft session) or diving into a codebase (like a Myst session).

I have coded extensively in vanilla JavaScript, React, Redux, and jQuery. I have read all six volumes of Kyle Simpson's YDKJS series and now eagerly wait for someone to ask me what closure is someday.
I thoroughly enjoy bringing wireframes and mockups to life using CSS3. I put great importance on keeping CSS codebase scaleable by utilizing combinations of SASS/SCSS, Styled Components, and BEM.
I have worked closely with Ruby on Rails for the past 2 years. I can confidently build RESTful APIs, query and build relational databases (PostgreSQL), and handle deployment in AWS and Heroku environments.

Beat45 provides music video streaming services for bars and restaurants as the world's first platform to offer on-demand video DJs.

As the main front end developer, I develop and maintain the UI and API for: uploading, auditing, and managing mixes and channels; DJ and venue tracking; registration, referrals, and playlist creator.
